Maintaining your privacy and Security

We know that you are concerned about the privacy and security of your personal information. We collect only personal information that is necessary to process your applications or enrolments. To provide you with a safe and secure online experience, we use 128-bit encryption, the highest level of security available. Of the most commonly used browsers, Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher or Netscape Communicator 5.0 or higher support this level of security.

Follow these steps to find out your browser's version number and encryption strength.

With Internet Explorer, click Help in the main menu, and then about Internet Explorer. a popup window with details about your browser, including its version number and cipher strength, should appear. If you do not already have version 5.0 or higher, click the Internet Explorer icon below to obtain the latest version from the Microsoft website and then install it on your computer. Even if your browser version is 5.0 or higher, you may not be using 128-bit encryption. If the current level of cipher strength is under 128 bit, you should see a button that allows you to upgrade automatically.

The page that appears next should tell you the version number of the browser you are using. If you do not already have version 6.2 or higher, click the Netscape icon below to obtain the latest version from the Netscape website and then install it on your computer. Even if your browser version is 6.2 or higher, you may not be using 128-bit encryption. On the same page that provides your browser version number you will find information about the type of security supported. If your browser supports International security, you have 56-bit encryption and will need to upgrade. If your browser supports U.S. security (which in this case includes Canada), you currently have 128-bit encryption installed on your computer.
